The theme for the 2023 World Day for Safety and Health at Work is: “A Safe and Healthy Work Environment”. The ILO also acknowledges the need of every stakeholder including organizations, labor unions, governments, employers, and public health sectors as vital keys to safeguarding and reaching true health and safety for every worker. This important day, commemorated every April 28, seeks to encourage, support, and bolster the need to continuously create a safe and healthy culture, to reduce work-related injuries, accidents, illnesses, and deaths for every worker and employee. The 28th April is also the International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers organized worldwide by the trade union movement. Around 6,500 people die every day because of accidents that happen on the job, as well as work-related diseases. That is 2.3 million deaths in a year. In celebration of this significant day on the world’s calendar, Jaric will host a week of events including a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in remembrance of those who lost their lives at work and in road accidents.
