The National Safety Council First Aid, CPR, and AED program is designed for easy appreciation of the material and includes power point presentations, videos, live demonstrations and practical sessions to develop “hands on” skills. The course includes both theory and practical sessions of First Aid, CPR, and AED. Individuals will be provided with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively administer First Aid, CPR, and AED techniques. Attending and participating in the course gives the individual the technical information that is needed to confidently administer First Aid, CPR, and AED techniques. Course Content: •Bandaging and Splinting •Sling and Swathe •Upper and Lower Extremities Fracture Control •First Aid for Cuts and Bruises •Bites and Stings •CPR and Circulation •Breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants and children •Identifying and caring for bleeding, sudden illnesses, and injuries •Preventing disease transmission •Includes an introduction to AEDs Duration: 1 Day Material(s) Provided: •National Safety Council First Aid Guide (Hardcopy) Certification: On successful completion of this course participants will receive a Certificate and Card from the National Safety Council. It is recommended that this certificate be renewed every 3 years. Pediatric First Aid
The National Safety Council Pediatric First Aid program covers the latest techniques for emergency care and practical safety tips for preventing injuries to infants and children. This program is particularly designed to meet the special needs of infants and children with special consideration for medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes. Participants are thought to deal with common injuries such as head bumps, tooth loss and objects lodged in the ears or nose. Course Content Child Safety Breathing and Cardiac Emergencies Childhood illness such as whooping cough, chickenpox, conjunctivitis and head lice Children with disabilities Dealing with signs of abuse and neglect Duration The course is completed in 1 or 2 days Target Group Parents Teachers Law enforcement professionals Individuals interested in being prepared to deal with such emergencies Certification On successful completion of the course participants will receive a Certificate from the National Safety Council.
